Special Projects

Throughout the year, Lonoke FBLA students participate in special projects that benefit the community. These include:

  • Student Bank Board
  • Chamber of Commerce

To be a part of the Student Bank Board students must complete an application process and must be members of FBLA to be considered. These members meet the third Monday of each month in the First State Bank's board room. Topics and activities include: a speaker from the Federal Reserve who show a film and explain the system; a presentation on obtaining money for college; a lesson on credit and interpreting credit reports; and a tour of the bank. For the final meeting of the year, the bank treats the student board to lunch at the Little Rock Club.

The Lonoke FBLA Chapter is a member of the Lonoke Chamber of Commerce. The first Thursday of each month, two members attend a luncheon meeting at the Chamber and give an activity report. The affiliation with the Chamber gives members the opportunity to network with area business leaders, learn business skills, and work with the organization on projects such as its annual banquet, chili supper fundraiser, and "Merry Thanks" Christmas Open House.
