• This Week in my Class

    Monday

Reading Classwork:  We will be working on stamina for read to self and learning how to stay on task for up to 20 minutes.  We will be reading the whole time, reading in our brain, and staying in one spot.  We will also continue to learn about our classroom library and how it is set up.

    Homework:  None at this time.

Assessment:  We will be taking the STAR test this week to determine what our reading level is for us to be able to check out AR books in the library.

Spelling Classwork:  We will be working on our first set of sight words, reading them aloud,  making sentences with the words, and discussing the meaning of these words.
    Homework:  Study sight words.
    Assessment:  None.

Math Classwork:  We will be decomposing numbers, as well as working on calendar math and using 10-frames to help us count.

Language Classwork:  We are learning the difference between complete and incomplete sentences.  A complete sentence has two parts - subject (who or what we are talking about) and the predicate (what the subject is doing).  An incomplete sentence has either a subject OR a predicate, but not both.
