    Act 237 of 2023, also known as the LEARNS Act, requires all students in the Class of 2027 and beyond to complete a minimum of seventy-five (75) clock hours of community service before graduation.  Community service refers to “activities carried out by individual students or groups of students to enhance and contribute to their local community.”  This Act does not place a minimum requirement or limit the number of hours that a student may earn per year, and it allows for the earning of community service hours within Arkansas or outside of Arkansas, as long as they are approved by the administration.   Act 237 of 2023 also requires students to “provide details about their community service projects, including their preparation, actions, and reflections.”
