I teach Spanish I and II at Lonoke High School. Feel free to explore this site and learn a little more Spanish along the way.
This is my ninth year at Lonoke High School. Previously I have taught at the University of Central Arkansas and Conway Christian High School. My alma maters include Russellville High School, Ouachita Baptist University, and the University of Central Arkansas.
One thing you will quickly learn about me is that I love to travel. Some of the places I've visited include Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica, and much of the United States. I've been married to my husband Daniel for 5 years. We have two daughters, Emilia, who will be 3 in September and Annelise who will be 1 in October.
Spanish I and II classes at LHS focus on learning basic Spanish communication through listening, reading, writing, and speaking while learning about the products, practices and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world. Throughout the year, students will do a variety of activities including projects, presentations, tests, and quizzes to practice and assess what they've learned. Students should expect to work hard everyday and have homework several times a week.
All Spanish classes at LHS use a combination of resources to learn Spanish, including Duolingo.com, Mi Vida Loca web series, classroom textbooks, and authentic resources.
Students will also need:
-a 70 count, college ruled spiral notebook
-a composition notebook
-a 1" binder
-pencils and pens
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or look around the website for helpful tips and resources. Thanks!
